Strong Nations require Strong Morals

Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated. Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but "to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER" and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God."

These truly are the times trying men's souls, trying their faith in humanity and more importantly their faith in God. Many in the country today claim that the country was not founded on Judeo-Christian principles, but that the Founders were simply seeking for gain. Any group of men facing hanging or drawn-and-quartering weren't seeking wealth, instead they were lead on by higher ideals, a hope for a nation where God could reign supreme. As the words of Thomas Paine states only Heaven knows how to set the right price on freedom, a celestial article. Not only did Thomas Paine recognize these facts, for facts they are, George Washington had some things about God and a political system as well, here are his words.

We as a nation can no longer allow political correctness deny us our faith and beliefs, and no I'm not just talking about Merry Christmas vs Happy Holidays, debate although...Merry Christmas!!!!! But the fact we allow minorities to dictate policy even though Christianity is a majority and we know we need God in our lives.

The USA is a covenant Christain nation. We are one nation under God. The Christian majority is the largest group in America (~75%, 2012 polling). Christians uniting in Christ is our nation’s source of unity. Keep in mind that we must all respect the belief systems of others and to allow love to be the forefront of our message. I just spent the last semester of my life learning about toleration. Never "tolerate someone" toleration is just the other side of the coin from persecution. You tolerate flies, you respect and seek to understand the lives from others. This Christmas season I would encourage each of us to get to know someone new. Learn about their beliefs and the things they care about. Even if you don't believe as they do, remember that Christ is at the heart of Christianity and his message was one of love, not hate or otherness.

Our souls are tried each day as the mores of society, our morality is being called into question and denigrated, stand up for your faith, whether Christian, Jew, Muslim, Sikh or Atheist, we love everyone and ask that you accord us to believe as we chose, just as the Constitution guarantees us each this right. If we don't stand up for our faith there will come a day when the government will push into our places of worship and demand we give up the things we hold most dear. Take the opportunity to write to or call your representative  and tell them that the government needs religion to maintain a moral and strong nation. I hope each of us can live our standards each day and lend strength to this great nation.
